Overview
The Ionetrics Wiki is built using DokuWiki, which is designed specifically for creating documentation. An easy-to-learn syntax is used to specify formatting for plain text files. This page describes how to perform basic editing operations. Please use the playground to practice before working on real pages.
How to edit pages
Before you can edit pages, you must be logged in. To log in, follow the Login link in the upper right corner of the page. To obtain a Username and Password, you must have a licensed copy of the Edgar software. After you log in, you can select the edit this page tab at the top of the page to access the editing window for the entire page, or you can press one of the edit links at the right of the page to edit individual sections. The editing window has a row of buttons at the top that work much like those in most common word processors. For example, to create bold text, you can press the Bold button then type text. You can also create bold text by first typing normal text, then selecting it by dragging the mouse, then pressing the Bold button.
How to create links
You can create links to any internet address. But the most common link will be an internal link to some other page within the wiki. Create the link by placing the pagename within double brackets: [[pagename]]. You can optionally include link title text after a vertical bar before the closing double bracket: [[pagename|Title Text]].
How to add pages
To add a new page, first create a link to a non existing page, then follow the link and click on Create this page.
How to delete pages
To delete a page, edit the page and remove all its content.
How to upload files
To upload Edgar screenshots or other image files, press the media selection button at the top of the editing window 1). This will open a special page that allows you to enter the file from your local system that you wish to upload. You can enter the file name directly into the upload text field, or you can press the Browse… button to browse your local file system and navigate to the file. You can optionally choose to upload the file under an another name. Press the Upload button when ready to upload the file.
