VNC Viewer
The embedded system is running a VNC server, so if needed you can access the system through a VNC viewer running on your laptop or desktop. By default, the VNC server is setup with no authentication requirements, so you can access it without a password. You can optionally reconfigure the VNC server to use password authentication, after you install a VNC viewer on your local system.
To install a VNC viewer, follow these steps:
- Run the downloaded installer and you’ll get the VNC Setup wizard
- Click Next
- Click on “I accept the agreement” then Next
- Accept the default folder and click Next
- Select the full installation and click Next
- Accept the default Start Menu folder and click Next
- Under “Additional Icons”, you can choose to have a desktop icon and/or a quick launch icon created. Picking one or the other of these will make it easier to run later.
- Under “VNC Server”, be sure to uncheck both options. (Neither option should be checked here.)
- Click Next
- Click Install
- Click Next
- Click Finish
After you have installed the VNC viewer, you can connect to the embedded system from your local system by following these steps:
- Apply power to the interferometer
- Boot your local system
- Make sure both systems are connected to your network
- Run the VNC Viewer (from your destkop icon, or quick launch icon, or Start Menu)
- Enter the server name (“Anneth1” by default) and click OK
- Enter the password if required
- You should now be connected
